Introduction To Inside Look

Welcome to Innovative PHP Inside Look to explore the technologies and applications used in this web site.
Since i am a web developer i am creating various kind of applications and plugins to give you the best knowledge
on web development. Considering the success i had with innovativephp and valuable* knowledge gained from
writing blog posts i have decided to start this inside look section to give more information about how i
developed this site and the things i used in this site. If you are into web development and design i think
this page will be usefull to you in starting your on web site or blog.

WordPress – I am using wordpress as my blogging cms since it is a complete cms framework and easily customizable.
As a web developer i feel it’s easier to create plugins and custom pages using wordpress more that any other available blog platform.
WordPress Plugins – Plugins is the main component that interests me. We can create simple plugins for your
blog or web site in few minutes. Although plugins are great it should be used wisely in your site. Too many
plugins can make the site slow and unusable. So be selective and carefull when selecting plgins for your site.
Following are a list of external plugins i use in my web site.
- Wp-Paginate –
  Pagnation plugin for wordpress which has a simple user friendly look and feel. I have used this plugin in
  my blog to divide posts into pages.Buddypress – Buddypress is a framework that allows you to add social networking
  feature to your blog. It allows user profiles and connection between users. Although this provides extensive
  list of features iam only using the theming features of buddypress.
- Addthis –
  This is not actually a wordpress plugin. It is an API that allows users to share your posts in social
  networking sites and article directories. Addthis provides
  extensive analytics feature like google analytics which allows you to moniter the popularity of your site in social
  networks. Inside innovativephp i created a simple pluging using the code provided with Addthis so can insert this service anywhere in my blog.
- Syntax Highlighter and Code Prettifier –
  This one of the most essential plugins for my blog since i do lot of code explanations. Syntax highlighter will format the
  codes and display in a user frindly way by highlighting langauage keywords and indenting.
Codeigniter – This is my prefered framework among the most populer PHP frameworks available. I am using this framework
since I am talking about web development and design. If your blog is focused on a niche like blogging,marketing..etc. you may
not need to think about codeigniter. I am using codeigniter for my Demonstrations and Applications.
Smarty – I think this is the best PHP template engine available. As with codeigniter this is used in creating user
interfaces for my application and plugins. If your blog has any web development related content i suggest you to try out smarty framework.
Jquery – I have used jquery in almost every part of my web site and blog. This can be used to create animated content
and plugins which catches the attention of the users.
Dreamhost – This is my hosting server for InnovativePHP and it provides every thing you need to maintain a web blog.
Most important thing is its very cheap. If you are looking for web hosting i highly recommend you to use dreamhost as web hosting provider.

As a starting point i have included the things which were used to build this web site in this “Inside Look” section.
In future i am going imporove this section to explain why i used these things and which part of my web site uses them using
examples from my site. Main purpose of this section is to provide complete knowledge on how i started and developed this site
and how a new comer can use my experience to start there own web sites. Stay tuned for more update on InnovativePHP Inside Look.
